French Editors Wanted!
Anthropologica, the journal of the Canadian Anthropology Society (CASCA) is looking for a French-language editor and a French book review editor.
The responsibilities of the French-language Editor include: soliciting, reading and assessing all French language manuscripts submitted to the journal; managing all cycles of the peer review process and liaising with authors, reviewers, and the production team of the University of Toronto Press. The French-language Editor is also responsible for all French-language content: for example, managing the translation of abstracts, introductions to special themes, and other material (for which a budget is provided to cover related costs). The French-language Editor works very closely with the Editor-in-Chief on all aspects of the journal, including assessing special theme proposals, liaising with the CASCA executive and Anthropologica's Editorial Advisory Board, andmarketing. The French-language Editor also works closely with the French Book Review Editor. CASCA provides a stipend and contributes to the French-language editor’s travel expenses to attend its annual meetings. Position to commence in January 2017. Duration is three-years, renewable.
The responsibilities of the French Book Review Editor include: soliciting and receiving books for review from publishers; selecting and liaising with reviewers; assessing and preparing the reviews for publication (ie, light copy editing). The book review editor works closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the French-language editor. Position is open now.
